To kickstart your Page Approval for Confluence experience, ensuring the applications' configuration is prepared correctly is vital. You can print this checklist to take note of the information as you go through the installation of the application.

Check

1. Installing the application and applying license

  •
Installation and Licensing

The Page Approval for Confluence installation is done within your Confluence instance. There are two types of licensing that you can acquire and apply:

  • Generating the license from My Atlassian and installing Atlassian Licensing on the Manage apps page.
  • Purchasing the license from ServiceRocket Apps and installing ServiceRocket Licensing in the Page Approval for Confluence Configuration.

The license application activates your installation of Page Approval for Confluence.

Check2. Configuring the global Page Approval settings
  •
Page Approval Global Settings

The global setting applies to all spaces in your Confluence instance. You can modify the properties of the application and configure the notification triggers. The following are properties that can be modified:

  • The default appearance of the macro.
  • The notification trigger to users for approval events.
  • The notification trigger to users for acknowledgment events.
  • The default behavior of the Page Approval for Confluence application.
Check3. Configuring the space level Page Approval settings
  •
Page Approval Space Settings

The space setting configuration allows you to set the Page Approval properties specific to your space. You will have to Enable Space Settings first, in order to make any of the following configurations.

  • Appearance:
    • List all ignored pages where the space-level Page Approval configuration will not take effect.
    • Showing the role field and comment field within the Page Approval macro.
  • Approvals:
    • List all users that will be added automatically as approvers in the Page Approval macros.
    • List all groups that will be set to approve pages in the space.
    • Set the approval in the order that the user list is defined.
    • Set the minimum number of approval required to approve the page.
  • Acknowledgments:
    • Enable the Acknowledgement feature.
    • Enable the acknowledegment section for a page.
    • List all users that will be added automatically as acknowledgers in the Page Approval macros.
    • List all groups that will be added automatically as acknowledger groups in the Page Approval macros.
  • Expiry Settings:
    • Set the expiry of the approval in the space after a specific time(hours, days, month)

The space-level Page Approval setting overwrites the global-level Page Approval setting. Similarly, the page-level Page Approval setting overwrites the space-level setting.
