Classic Connector for Salesforce & Jira

Question:

Comments are not synchronized from JIRA to Salesforce.com

Answer:

There are several possibilities why comments are not synchronized from JIRA to Salesforce.com.

Firstly, go to:

Cog Icon > Add-ons > Cloud Connectors > Mappings > Expand the Settings

Verify that you have enabled:

  • Automatically push new comments to Remote System

  • Automatically push new comments for Issues associated with multiple remote objects

Next, you have to know which method you used to associate or link the issue between JIRA and Salesforce.com:

  • Associate the issue from JIRA to Salesforce.com

  • Associate the issue from Salesforce.com to JIRA

  • Create JIRA issue from Salesforce.com

If you are associating the issue between JIRA and Salesforce.com using the first method, it will not sync the comments that have been created in JIRA before association happened between JIRA and Salesforce.com.

If you are associating the issue from Salesforce.com to JIRA, the comments that have been created in JIRA before association happened between JIRA and Salesforce.com will sync and only if you choose Associate and push to JIRA.

Creating a JIRA Issue from within Salesforce.com will automatically sync the comments that have been created in JIRA before any association happens between JIRA and Salesforce.com.

Alternatively, you may try to manually push the comments from JIRA to Salesforce.com.

Go to the JIRA issue that you have created > More > Manage Application Links > Push Changes

Then try creating some comments on the same JIRA issue and verify whether it synchronizes the comments that you have just created.
